Open Letter to President Muhammadu Buhari

Your Excellency , i want to thank you for whatever has happened to this country under your watch either good or bad. I don't know you, i have never met you and i am not likely to ever meet you, but i believe so much in what you stand for sir. Your ideals that i believe in are values of honesty, integrity, and simplicity . I have defended you in many places where i can easily get stoned or hated by admirers. In all that have happened so far Mr President , i still don't have much blame to put on you, because of  what i understand but that is difficult to explain to many people including those who campaign and voted for you in the 2015 General election. These people cannot be blamed because they have voted for a better life and not more problems. Whether what is presently going on in the country is your make or not, it does not matter to an hungry man, because all he wants is a government that will ameliorates his problems. In view of the above, i have some piece of advice for you sir which i think should not be neglected.

Firstly is the need for you sir to always give a timely response to any emergency situation that prevails in the country, these include both security and development issues. This is important for two reasons, it helps to ameliorate the people's problems and secondly it prevent your detractors from exploiting the situation to their own advantage. This is also important because what you do or fail to do as President have both direct and indirect effect on the lives of Nigerians whose well-being are your primary responsibility. As a matter of urgency, there is need for you sir to take more step on the issues of increasing unemployment and poverty rate in the country. It is a national emergency that if left unattended to will further complicate our already fragile economic and security situation. In attending to these problems sir, the activities of saboteurs, spoilers and political predators within and outside your political party (APC) should be given serious consideration. No matter what you do, they are more determined to ensure that you did not succeed. These people cannot be dealt with in a mere violent manner, a more subtle means will be required to curb their activities and without taming them, your efforts make count for little or nothing.

Secondly , there is need for you sir to urgently reshuffle your cabinet as this is long overdue. This is important because,the success and failure of your cabinet members will be borne by you. Any failure of the government is always on the neck of the President . Ministers should be providing solution to problems and they are not suppose to be giving excuses. Nigerians want you to be more firm and transparent in the way you deal with people under you sir. I also agree with this, because if you show such an attitude to someone in your cabinet or party, outsiders will know that they have to be very careful .

Lastly sir, i want to appreciate your fight against corruption, , the N-power program, support to state government to pay salaries of their workers and massive agricultural programmes. We thank you so much and we want more.
