Over the past week, Juventus have been locked in negotiations with Chelsea
as they look to recruit midfielder Nemanja Matic, according to reports in
England.
With former
Bianconeri boss Antonio Conte set to take over at Stamford Bridge this summer,
it is believed the Serbian is not part of his plans and could be allowed to leave.
The Serie A
champions are leading the race for his signature and according to the Daily
Express, Juventus have been engaged in talks for more than a week and are
confident a €25 million deal can be struck.
Matic is currently
in his second spell at Stamford Bridge, after returning to the club from
Benfica in 2014 and was a key player in his side's charge to the Premier League
title in the 2014/15 campaign.
However, his form
has dipped this season and he is no longer assured of a starting berth in the English
capital, meaning he could lead the exodus during the summer.Despite securing the signature of Mario Lemina on a long-term deal last week, Juventus are
keen to add further midfield options, with Claudio Marchisio facing a further
four months on the sidelines.
