An interesting election by Graeme

I have always liked politics and been vehemently one-sided most of my life. That's changed. I still lean the way I always did, but like many others, I am sick of decisions taken in self-interest, in the favour of powerful lobbyists and media opinion that is dictated by the owner-mogul. This is why I am fascinated by the American election. Yes, it's a seemingly never-ending extravaganza, but it is extremely interesting to try and analyse what is happening. Trump and Sanders stand out as anti-establishment candidates. That's why it's great that they are doing so well. Probably neither will win as the establishment will find a way to indoctrinate the electorate that neither will be able to work with Congress, etc. What is important is the questions raised. Is the economy and political system rigged against the middle class and the working poor? Does the current system do them any favours? Are people sick of the same old? Change is in the air (maybe temporarily).
